Absolutely everyone you speak to has at some point been affected by a member of their family or a member of a friend's family that has gone through the terrible experience which is breast cancer. For me it was my funny and beautiful Auntie Theresa who I'll never forget - but we can all add a name - some are more lucky than others thanks to the new treatments available.
With this in mind I decided I wanted to take part in this challenge to support this worthwhile cause. It's tough in that we power walk this marathon in the same time as some people run a marathon and the hours spent and miles covered in practice to get ready for the 10th June are vast, and that's not to mention the fact that sometimes when you've done a session you physically can't move with pain and fatigue, especially after the last 21.4 mile practice session with the girls on Saturday!
So bring on the blisters, black toe nails and shuffling like an 90 year old! It's for an amazing cause. So please dig deep and sponser me for my overnight marathon walk which will probably be in the wind, rain and cold in Edinburgh - despite it being the middle of June ;-))
Thank you so much for your support x
